Heavy rains caused by an extratropical cyclone hitting Santa Catarina on Tuesday morning (9) are already affecting traffic. Roads had to be blocked due to the large amount of water on the federal and state highways.
In the Greater Florianópolis region, in Biguaçu, on BR 101, at Km 186 northbound, the right lane was blocked until 10:40 am due to excess water accumulation.
In São José, on BR 101, at Km 206, northbound, the right lane was also blocked due to excess water until 10:40 am.
According to the Federal Highway Police (PRF), around 9:30 am, traffic was slow from Km 45 to Km 43 northbound due to the high number of vehicles.
For the same reason, there was also slow traffic from Km 114 to Km 110 and then from Km 121 to Km 17 southbound.
At 10:20 am, the PRF reported that on BR 282, at Km 593 eastbound, the third lane was blocked due to a truck skidding off the road.
