China is strongly opposing European plans to reintroduce sanctions against Iran’s nuclear program, while the UK, France, and Germany are maintaining their position. ‘Imposing sanctions does not help the parties to build trust and is not beneficial for diplomatic efforts,’ said China’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs in a statement. The disagreement highlights the division among key global players regarding the approach towards Iran’s nuclear activities.
