Conmebol Keeps Final in Lima and Monitors Scenario in Peru

Conmebol has decided to keep the city of Lima as the venue for the Libertadores Cup final, even after Peru’s President José Jerí declared a state of emergency in the capital for 30 days due to the wave of violence affecting the city. The South American entity is closely monitoring the situation and is in contact with local authorities for further updates. The Libertadores final is scheduled for November 29th at the Monumental Stadium, a week after the end of the government-imposed period. The state of emergency also applies to the city of Callao.
