Corinthians Receives Transfer Ban for Debt on Félix’s Signing

Corinthians owes approximately R$ 33 million (US$ 6.1 million) for the acquisition of the Ecuadorian center-back, completed in early last year. The Mexican club claims to have received only the first installment of the purchase, worth 2 million dollars, out of a total of 6.5 million. Santos Laguna reported to FIFA in May 2024, after the deadline for Corinthians to pay the second installment passed. In addition to the remaining 4.5 million dollars from the original deal, the Corinthians must also pay fines. The club’s legal department appealed to the CAS (Court of Arbitration for Sport) to avoid the punishment but lost in all instances. They had until last Monday (11) to settle the debt in full.
