The meeting of the Deliberative Council that was set to vote on changes to Corinthians’ statute was suspended on Monday (24). It began around 7:20 pm but was halted approximately an hour later for about ten minutes after councilors requested more debate and the establishment of a new discussion schedule. It was decided that ten public hearings would be held, splitting the statute reform topics into specific axes to allow for a more detailed analysis of each point. These hearings will take place on December 1st, 4th, 8th, and 16th, as well as on January 21st, 23rd, 26th, and 29th, and February 2nd and 4th. Initially, the President of the Deliberative Council, Romeu Tuma Júnior, had proposed voting to take place between Mondays and Wednesdays in December of this year. However, councilors questioned the rush and asked for more time between discussions. Therefore, the dates mentioned above were set during the session break. Based on Article 85 of the current statute, the meeting was adjourned with reopening scheduled for each of the public hearings. The final vote in the Deliberative Council was scheduled for February 2026, with the decisive Assembly of Associates scheduled for March next year. Projects approved during these meetings will be in effect for next year’s election.
