CV Member’s Sister, Shot in the Face, Makes Plea: ‘Smiling Photo’

Penelope’s sister, known as ‘Japinha do CV,’ pleaded on social media for images of her body not to be shared after the major operation in the Alemão and Penha complexes in Rio de Janeiro. She stated that the profile will be used for tributes, with photos of the young woman ‘happy and smiling.’ Penelope was identified by the police as a frontliner for the Red Command and considered a trusted fighter for the faction. According to reports, she allegedly resisted the police approach and shot at officers during the operation. The young woman, who was wearing camouflage clothing at the time of the operation, was fatally shot in the face. Images and videos of Penelope’s body circulated on social media after the operation, prompting the family’s request.
