In 1954, at the age of only 19, Dharmendra married Prakash Kaur, but he did not find success in Bollywood at that time. Their eldest son, Sanjeev, was born in 1957, followed by Bobby Deol in 1969. Ajita and Vijeta were born in 1966 and 1962, respectively. Despite the family disputes, Hemlata married Dharmendra out of deep love and respect, making it clear that she did not seek any wealth or possessions from him. Only pure love and the right to apply sindoor were enough for her to continue.
