BRASÍLIA — One of the texts articulated by Bolsonaro’s supporters in the Chamber of Deputies to grant amnesty to former President Jair Bolsonaro (PL) and others convicted on January 8th, foresees complete forgiveness for all targets of the Federal Supreme Court (STF) for anti-democratic acts since 2019. The draft, which Estadão had access to, aims to benefit all investigated, prosecuted, or convicted for anti-democratic conduct from March 14, 2019. This would allow Bolsonaro, ineligible for eight years after two convictions in 2023 by the Electoral Court, to compete for the Presidency next year.
