EgyptAir targets Kolkata and Tollywood with discounts and offers

Egypt’s national carrier, EgyptAir, is making efforts to attract Tollywood by offering discounted fares and promising to facilitate shooting permissions at scenic and historic locations. The country manager, Amr Aly, and sales manager, Rajat Chadha, are highlighting attractions like the Grand Museum at Giza, Hurghada, and Sharm El Sheikh to the Indian film industry. Chadha mentioned Bollywood movies and songs shot in Egypt over the years, emphasizing the potential for Tollywood to explore the charm of Egypt. The airline is collaborating with travel agency Karnak to make Cairo, Luxor, and other Egyptian cities feasible shooting locations for Tollywood directors. They are also working with travel trade bodies and exploring partnerships with Indian airlines to enhance connectivity between India and Egypt. EgyptAir currently operates multiple flights between India and Egypt and aims to increase frequency to meet growing demand. The airline is hopeful for increased bilateral rights to operate more flights between the two countries and is considering Kolkata as a potential destination.
