The Central government of India has made it mandatory for Indian citizens seeking employment in Iran to obtain emigration clearance, a move aimed at enhancing the protection of Indian workers. This decision revokes the previous exemption that allowed Indian citizens to go to Iran for work without clearance. The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) has stated that the new regulation is in line with the government’s commitment to ensuring the welfare and safety of Indian workers abroad.
