Europeans Likely to Apply UN Snapback Sanctions on Iran on Thursday

Britain, France, and Germany are expected to initiate the process of reinstating UN sanctions on Iran on Thursday, as reported by four diplomats. They are hopeful that Tehran will convince them to postpone the penalties by offering assurances regarding its nuclear program. This development comes as UN nuclear inspectors visit Iran for the first time since the recent conflict with Israel, although the extent of their mandate remains unclear.
