The presenter Faustão has been hospitalized at the Hospital Israelita Albert Einstein in São Paulo since May 21 to treat an acute bacterial infection with sepsis. On August 7 and 8, the 75-year-old host underwent a liver transplant followed by a kidney retransplant. Sources close to the family reveal that Fausto Silva is responding positively to the recent procedures. According to Ricardo Feltrin, the family confirmed that both surgeries were successful and Faustão is conscious, albeit weakened, but recovering well. The medical team expressed surprise by his progress. Faustão remains hospitalized since May, receiving treatment for the infection. He has been under the care of a multidisciplinary team for infection control, clinical rehabilitation, and nutritional support to stabilize his health condition. The kidney retransplant, planned a year ago, took place on Wednesday, a day after the liver transplant. There is no set date for his release as of now. Faustão has a history of consecutive transplants. In August 2023, he had a heart transplant due to complications from heart failure. In February 2024, a kidney transplant was necessary due to worsening renal condition. Since then, he has been closely monitored, undergoing hemodialysis post-transplant until his condition allowed for other treatments. In early 2025, Faustão was hospitalized again for an infection, but was discharged days later to continue treatment at home.
