Flamengo became the four-time Libertadores champion on Saturday night after defeating Palmeiras 1-0. Still, amidst celebrations, the team has other important matches this season: the Brasileirão title, which could be clinched on Wednesday (December 3), and the Intercontinental Cup. The second edition of the new FIFA Intercontinental Cup, previously known as the Club World Cup, started in September and will run until December 17. Four clubs are already confirmed for the tournament: Cruz Azul (Concacaf), Flamengo (Conmebol), PSG (UEFA), and Pyramids FC (CAF). After confirming Flamengo’s participation, FIFA announced the dates, times, and opponents for the matches.
