Ford has filed a patent for an external audio synchronization system among multiple vehicles. The document was registered on May 21, 2024, and published on November 27, 2025. The technology allows multiple cars to exchange data and adjust sound settings so that the audio signal works in harmony, like a single acoustic system. The solution could be used, for example, at events or parking lots where it is important to direct sound to a specific area. The system is designed to use transceivers, processors, databases, and a sound field optimization module. The algorithm takes into account the cars’ positioning. If several cars are parked in a semicircle, the system can deactivate external speakers and activate only those directed inwards. According to the company, the patent is not a direct confirmation of a future commercial product, but it reflects the direction of the research.
