Former América goalkeeper Neneca dies at 45

Former América goalkeeper Anderson Soares da Silva, known as Neneca, passed away on Monday (22) at the age of 45 in Rondonópolis, Mato Grosso. Neneca had been in the ICU since last Friday (19) after suffering a heart attack while watching a U-17 soccer game. In addition to the heart attack, exams revealed that the former player had an aneurysm in the aorta artery and would need to undergo open-chest surgery. However, Neneca did not survive. The former Coelho goalkeeper was currently working as the football manager for União Esporte Clube in Rondonópolis, the team where he was discovered for football.
