Defenseman Rob Ramage achieved impressive results in hockey, winning two Stanley Cups. But the player’s reputation was shattered after a terrible tragedy. A unique NHL hockey player, Ramage was considered a great talent in the late 1970s. The Colorado Rockies selected him as the first overall pick in the draft. However, he struggled to shine in his early NHL seasons. He even entered league history with a negative mark. In a match against the Islanders, Ramage was the last to touch the puck that entered the Colorado net, marking the first goal in NHL history scored by a goalie. The unpleasant episode did not affect Ramage’s career, as he soon made a name for himself, winning two Stanley Cups with Calgary and Montreal. He also became the first player in Toronto’s history to be named captain before his first official match. Ramage ended his NHL career in 1994 after playing over a thousand games.
