Good News for Home Builders in HYD Shivar Areas as GHMC Makes Key Decision

Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) has provided a ray of hope to residents and builders in Shivar areas by revamping the construction approval process. Due to changes made in the ‘Build Now’ software, permit applications are now being accepted starting today. Currently, permissions are being granted for constructions up to G+2 floors, with more software updates underway.

In the past, municipal authorities within GHMC’s jurisdiction were facing challenges with the construction approval process due to limitations within the system. To address this, necessary updates were made in the ‘Build Now’ software after including local institutions from municipalities and corporations in GHMC. As a result, applications for construction permits are now being processed promptly.

For buildings up to G+2 floors, instant approvals are provided for plots measuring 75 square yards in residential areas. Additionally, stilt+2 or G+1 approvals are granted for instant registration. For areas requiring more than 75 square yards for instant approval, stilt+5 permissions are given for construction. Software updates related to constructions requiring more floors are still in progress, which is why it may take a few more days for those permits to be approved.

Several modifications have been made, including a relaxation of all kinds of municipal services. Starting from Monday, the Planning Division has announced plans to streamline the approval process to rid residents of any inconvenience. Respectively, construction permits, birth/death certificates, property taxes, estates, and other fees are being transferred to the GHMC Commissioner’s account within the abolished municipal boundaries.

In the HMDA limits, scrutiny is currently underway for building construction permit applications relating to sky-high buildings and greenery structures. HMDA and GHMC jurisdictions have noticeable differences, so the reviews are being conducted meticulously. Officials are currently transitioning the scrutiny of these applications as per the specific regulations to ensure compliance. Clarity on this matter is imperative.
