Group throws bombs and fireworks at Palmeiras’ training center; club speaks of terrorism

The pressure escalated after Palmeiras’ defeat against Corinthians in the Brazilian Cup round of 16. The Palmeiras Football Academy was the target of an attack with bombs and fireworks, according to a statement released by the club on Sunday (10). Fortunately, no one was injured. The club classified the incident as a ‘terrorist attack’ and stated that the assault bore similarities to the one that occurred in October 2024 when a Cruzeiro fan was killed on Fernão Dias Highway.
