Pneumonia, a leading cause of death among children under five, particularly those who are malnourished, was discussed in Uttar Pradesh on World Pneumonia Day at King George’s Medical University. The event aimed to raise awareness about prevention and early diagnosis of pneumonia. Over 150 attendees, including faculty members, doctors, and paramedical staff, participated in the program. Prof Ved Prakash, head of the pulmonary medicine department, emphasized the vulnerability of young children to pneumonia due to weak immunity. He stressed the importance of proper nutrition, clean air, vaccinations, and prompt treatment to prevent the disease.
