The Iranian regime has executed at least 1002 individuals in the first nine months of the year, according to the human rights group Hengaw. 404 of the executions took place after the war between Iran and Israel broke out in June, as stated in a report published by the group on Sunday. This marks a 40% increase since the start of the war, which is described as ‘the largest increase in two decades.’ The executions represent a concerning trend in Iran’s human rights record, drawing international attention and criticism. The heightened number of executions in the midst of ongoing conflicts is particularly alarming.
