IAEA Director General Rafael Grossi recognized on Monday the importance of monitoring Iran’s nuclear program closely and, despite the recent restrictions imposed, he expressed hope for a new agreement in the near future. Grossi stated, ‘We are having discussions with them on how to ensure the proper monitoring and verification of Iran’s nuclear activities.’ The IAEA has been actively involved in overseeing Iran’s compliance with the nuclear deal signed in 2015. Grossi’s optimism about reaching a new agreement is a positive development amidst ongoing tensions.
