India to Host BRICS Presidency in 2026: Focus on Reforms and Global Representation

India is set to take on the BRICS Presidency in 2026, hosting the leaders’ summit in New Delhi and organizing 100 meetings across 60 cities. The country has outlined key areas of focus, including institutional reforms, climate finance, digital governance, and advocating for the interests of the Global South. The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) is planning a series of events, such as a kite festival and Diwali celebrations, to showcase the Presidency and strengthen ties within the BRICS group.
