Indonesia announced last week an initial investment of $1 billion in the New Development Bank (NDB). This contribution marks the entry of the Asian country into the Brics Bank. During the National Leadership Meeting of the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin) in Jakarta, the Minister of Economic Affairs, Airlangga Hartarto, stated that Indonesia’s entry into the NBD reflects its commitment to strengthen cooperation among Global South countries. ‘Indonesia becomes a member and actively participates in NBD preparations,’ said Hartarto.
