Inter announced the dismissal of coach Ramon Díaz on Saturday. He and his son, assistant Emiliano Díaz, are no longer part of Inter’s coaching staff as the team continues to fight against relegation in the Brasileirão. Emiliano Díaz, assistant coaches Osmar Ferreyra and Bruno Urribarri, fitness coach Diego Pereira, and performance analyst Juan Romanazzi also leave the club alongside him. Permanent assistant coach Pablo Fernandez will lead Saturday’s training session at the CT Parque Gigante.
The sacking of Ramon and Emiliano Díaz came a day after the 5-1 defeat to Vasco. The match started at 7:30 p.m. and ended over two hours later due to rain in Rio de Janeiro. The decision to dismiss the coaching staff was made after a meeting of Inter’s Management Council on Saturday. The training session was scheduled for 5 p.m., but before that, Ramon and Emiliano were called to be informed that they would no longer be part of the club.
Ramon Díaz’s short tenure at Inter began after a quick negotiation, initially favoring Zubeldía. However, talks with the current Fluminense coach cooled off, and Díaz emerged as the choice with the endorsement of executive director D’Alessandro, replacing Roger Machado. Diaz took charge of Inter in 13th place, making his debut against Juventude with a 1-1 draw at Alfredo Jaconi. Since then, he participated in 13 games, with three wins, five draws, and five losses.
