IOC urges sports events not to be hosted in Indonesia after Israeli gymnasts banned

The International Olympic Committee (IOC) has advised international sports federations against hosting events in Indonesia after the country prohibited Israeli gymnasts from participating in a recent competition. Last week, due to the conflict in Gaza, the world’s most populous Muslim nation refused to issue visas to Israeli athletes. The athletes were set to compete at the World Artistic Gymnastics Championships in Jakarta, but the ban prevented them from doing so. The IOC is concerned about the political interference in sports and the impact it may have on international competitions.
