TEHRAN: In response to the move by Britain, France, and Germany to reapply UN sanctions, Iran’s Supreme National Security Council declared that this action would effectively suspend its collaboration with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), the United Nations’ nuclear watchdog. The decision was made as a response to the three European countries triggering the mechanism that snaps back UN sanctions fulfilled under the 2015 Iran nuclear deal. Although Iran reiterated its commitment to the Non-Proliferation Treaty, it expressed disappointment over the European nations’ stance.
