Tehran’s stance was expected. Iran declared on Sunday that cooperation with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) is “no longer relevant” following the reinstatement of UN sanctions related to its nuclear program. “At this point, continuing this cooperation is not necessary,” stated Kazem Gharibabadi, Iran’s envoy to the IAEA. The move comes amid escalating tensions between Iran and the international community over the country’s nuclear activities.
