Iran’s Nuclear Chief in Moscow to Sign Power Plants Deal as UN Considers Sanctions

Iran, facing electricity shortages during peak months, currently operates only one nuclear power plant in Bushehr with a capacity of around 1 GW, built by Russia. Mohammad Eslami, the head of Iran’s atomic energy organization, has traveled to Moscow for negotiations, announced Iranian state media on Monday. The UN is pondering the reintroduction of sanctions against Tehran over its nuclear activities.
