Breaking the siege on Gaza, the International Committee announced on October 8th that the Freedom Flotilla heading to the Gaza Strip was attacked. The Flotilla consisted of 10 ships that departed from Sicily, Italy on September 25th, carrying dozens of activists, including lawmakers, doctors, and media personnel from around the world. Despite opposition, the organizers of the mission persisted in attempting to reach the Gaza Strip.
