Israeli authorities announced on Sunday that they have identified the remains of Ronen Engel, one of the two hostages delivered the day before by Hamas. The Israeli army stated that they had ‘informed the family of the hostage Ronen Engel’ about the return of his remains to Israel. The information was confirmed by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s office, which reiterated that Israel ‘will not make concessions’ and will spare no efforts ‘until all hostages are repatriated’. Ronen Engel, 54, a resident of Kibutz Nir Oz, was kidnapped from his home and killed by Hamas on October 7, 2023. His body was taken and held hostage in the Gaza Strip. He was declared dead on December 1, 2023. Netanyahu stated that the war will end after the disarmament of Hamas.
