Activists and witnesses reported that Israel had started intercepting vessels bound for Gaza in international waters north of Egypt. The incidents occurred on Wednesday when the ships entered what activists described as a ‘danger zone’ due to the Israeli Navy’s actions. ‘They are currently hailing our vessels, telling us to turn off our engines and await further instructions or our boats will be seized and we will face the consequences,’ said one activist in a video posted on Instagram, wearing a red life jacket. The situation raised alarms among activists and international observers about the safety of ships navigating in the region.
