Kellogg Calls for Elections in Ukraine

US President’s Special Envoy Keith Kellogg, in an interview with Fox News, stated that the American settlement plan involves holding elections in Ukraine. According to the document, the voting should take place within 100 days, although a shortened period of 90 days is also possible. Kellogg emphasized that conducting elections will help stabilize the situation in the country and ‘calm people down.’ The initiative is part of a comprehensive US plan to resolve the conflict.

Reuters agency reported Kellogg’s resignation from his position on November 20th. According to the publication, he will leave his post in January 2026. The reason for his departure is cited as the completion of his 360-day term. Reuters notes that the possible resignation will be unfavorable news for Kyiv as Kellogg has taken a tougher stance towards Russia than many other representatives of the Trump administration.
