Maoists Encounter: Heavy Encounter in Chhattisgarh Bijapur District with Five Maoists Killed!

In the remote forests of Bijapur, Chhattisgarh, a fierce encounter took place between security forces comprising District Reserve Guard (DRG), Special Task Force (STF), and Cobra forces, and Maoists. This incident occurred on Wednesday morning in the West Bastar forest region. Acting on intelligence about the presence of Maoists, the District Reserve Guard (DRG), Special Task Force (STF), and Cobra forces conducted an anti-Naxal operation. Initial reports from Superintendent of Police, Jeetendra Yadav, indicated that the operation took place within the boundaries of the Indravati National Park. The forces recovered the bodies of five Maoists and seized weapons, explosives, ensuring the safety of security personnel. The encounter began at 10 am near the Bhairamgarh police station limits in the West Bastar region and has already resulted in casualties among the Maoists. One Maoist was injured and captured. In addition to the bodies, weapons, explosives, and radio sets were recovered, ensuring the operational success and security for the forces. According to SP Jeetendra Yadav, the operation aims to curb the influence of Maoists, which has been successful with the elimination of 144 Maoists in Bijapur so far. Out of these, 499 have been arrested, while 560 have surrendered. Since January this year, a total of 202 Maoists have been killed, significantly weakening the Maoist presence in the region. The authorities have strategically cut off Maoist leaders and operatives like in the Abujhmarh forest region, ensuring that the remaining extremists do not cause any harm. The coordinated efforts of the DRG, STF, Bastar fighters, CRPF, and Chhattisgarh Armed Forces have been pivotal in the successful operations against the Red Terror, leading to enhanced security measures.
