Mexico is set to implement a significant rise in import tariffs on more than 1,400 tariff lines from countries that do not have trade agreements, including India, China, South Korea, Thailand, and Indonesia. The move will see duties elevated to 35-50 percent, impacting India’s $5.3 billion export basket. Among Indian exports, vehicle exports, valued at almost $1 billion, will face the most substantial increase, with tariffs jumping from 20 percent to 50 percent.
