Argentine President Javier Milei had to be quickly evacuated on Wednesday (27) during a caravan in Lomas de Zamora, a city south of Buenos Aires, after militants threw stones and bottles at the convoy. The incident, which increases tension in the final stretch of the campaign for the legislative elections, comes amid political wear and tear of the government with corruption allegations involving the president’s sister, Karina Milei. According to local media reports, the vehicle carrying Milei, accompanied by Karina, deputy José Luis Espert, and Sebastián Pareja, was targeted with objects thrown in the center of Lomas de Zamora. The presidential security ordered an immediate evacuation, and the group left the scene in a closed car, while Espert departed on a motorcycle. Candidate Maximiliano Bondarenko, also present, was reportedly hit by a stone.
