The councilman Ricardo Balila (MDB) from Patrocínio, Minas Gerais, survived an attempted murder on Wednesday night (8/13) at a car dealership in the Alto Paranaíba region. According to the Military Police, the crime was motivated by a commercial dispute. Balila informed the officers that he had purchased the dealership from the 46-year-old suspect, with whom he had financial issues. The suspect arrived at the location for negotiations and, during the conversation, pulled out a firearm, firing a shot that hit the office wall. He then threw a chair at the victim and fled. Balila sustained a head wound and abrasions, being taken to the hospital for treatment. Witnesses confirmed the gunshot and the suspect’s escape in a Jeep Compass. The PM conducted searches at various addresses, but the suspect was not found. Forensics were called in to gather evidence for the investigation by the Civil Police.
