Since the imposition of financial sanctions by the US government, Supreme Court Minister Alexandre de Moraes had his American credit card blocked by at least one bank in Brazil. In return, the institution offered Moraes a Brazilian Elo flag card, so that he could make payments in the country without the restrictions imposed by the Trump administration. The information was confirmed to Folha in confidential conversations with a Supreme Court member, a person working in the financial market, and two other close to Moraes. Moraes was approached by the report, but the Supreme Court’s press office stated that he would not comment.
