Russian figure skating stars Alexandra Trusova and Alena Kostornaia-Kunitsa became mothers not long ago and are already showcasing impressive skills on the ice. Trusova, known as the ‘Russian Rocket,’ has almost recovered all her triple jumps, while European champion Kostornaia confidently executes double axels. Will they soon return to competitions and fight for medals?
Fans are amazed at how quickly Alexandra is getting back in shape. She gave birth to her son Mikhail on August 6, 2025, and within days of delivery, she was back on the ice. By the end of October, she had almost recovered all her triple jumps, nailing triple Salchows. With the Rittberger ahead and the possibility of quads on the horizon, there’s much anticipation.
Kostornaia-Kunitsa, another top Russian figure skater, became a mother on September 28 and returned to the ice shortly after. While she hasn’t posted attempts at triple jumps yet, she has successfully landed double axels with her husband Georgi Kunitsa, a former figure skater.
The fans admire Alexandra’s determination and talent, expressing their support for her rapid recovery. Likewise, Alena’s fearlessness and natural talent for figure skating are acknowledged, as she impresses with her beautiful jumps. Both skaters are motivated by motherhood, with their children being the driving force behind their remarkable comebacks. With this pace, they could soon be competing in this season.
