Naxalism in India took root with the efforts of Charu Majumdar and Kanu Sanyal, gaining momentum and spreading its influence in the country. The Naxal movement began by targeting the resources of water, forest, and land controlled by indigenous tribes. Moving forward, the Home Minister, Amit Shah, has expressed the belief that Naxalism in the country will end by March 31, 2026. The stronghold of Naxalism is currently concentrated in eight to ten districts, where security forces have intensified their efforts to combat the insurgency. Despite these measures, the roots of Naxalism run deep in certain regions, posing a significant challenge to the development of these areas.
