Nuclear: Iran cooperates with China and Russia to block potential European sanctions

Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi stated on August 14 that his country is working with China and Russia to prevent potential European sanctions related to its nuclear program. Germany, the UK, and France threaten to activate the European ‘snapback’ mechanism if no diplomatic solution is found by the end of August regarding Iran’s nuclear program exceeding the limits set in 2015. The goal is to prevent the reestablishment of UN sanctions against Tehran. The cooperation with China and Russia aims to counteract any European measures that could lead to increased tensions in the region. This collaborative effort reflects Iran’s strategic alliances with key global players in the face of escalating diplomatic challenges.
