The CBF has assigned relatively unknown referees for the Palmeiras and Flamengo matches in the 35th round of the Brasileirão — the green and red-black teams will face Fluminense and Bragantino, respectively, starting at 9:30 pm today. Who are they? Jonathan Benkenstein Pinheiro will officiate Palmeiras x Fluminense at Allianz Parque. The 39-year-old from Gaúcho, in the CBF’s squad since 2016, has only refereed one Serie A game this year: he officiated Mirassol 0-0 Botafogo earlier this month. Benkenstein, who is also an administrator, has handled 26 games this season — half of them in Serie B. The referee has also worked in the Gaúcho Championship, the Copa do Brasil, and Serie C.
