Petrobras (PETR4) Reverses Loss and Records a Profit of R$ 26.65 Billion in 2Q 2025

Petrobras (PETR3; PETR4) released its second-quarter 2025 (2Q25) results on Thursday (7). The oil company reported a net profit of R$ 26.65 billion, reversing the loss seen in the same period last year. The adjusted earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization (EBITDA) stood at R$ 52.3 billion, 5.1% higher than the previous year’s second quarter. However, sales revenue decreased in the second quarter, compared to both the same period last year (2.6% less) and the previous quarter (3.3% decline), reaching R$ 119 billion. Petrobras reported a net profit without exclusive events of R$ 23.18 billion, reflecting a 10% drop in Brent and an increase in operating expenses. According to analysts surveyed by LSEG, the expected net profit was R$ 20.129 billion, with revenue of R$ 116.5 billion and an EBITDA of R$ 58.15 billion.
