Protests continued for a fifth consecutive day in various cities across Indonesia on Friday, following an incident where a delivery rider was allegedly struck by an armored vehicle during clashes between riot police and students protesting against lawmakers’ allowances. Reports of clashes between demonstrators and riot police emerged in Surabaya, Solo, Yogyakarta, Medan, Makassar, Manado, Bandung, and the easternmost Papua region of Manokwari.
