Rogério Correia and Sóstenes Cavalcante argue during INSS CPMI; see

The deputies Rogério Correia (PT-MG) and Sóstenes Cavalcante (PL-RJ) had a heated argument on Monday night (8) during the CPMI (Mixed Parliamentary Commission of Inquiry) of INSS (National Social Security Institute).
“Jair Bolsonaro will go to jail, you idiot, on Friday,” said the PT deputy during the discussion.
The former president will be judged on Tuesday (9) by the First Panel of the Supreme Federal Court for an attempted coup. The last session is scheduled for this Friday (12).
The confusion started after the former Minister of Social Security Carlos Lupi remained silent when questioned. The parliamentarians then began to discuss whether the witness could remain silent during the inquiries.
The session of the commission investigating the INSS embezzlement was interrupted, but the president decided not to suspend the proceedings. After tensions calmed down, the hearing resumed.
The CPMI was created to investigate the billion-dollar unauthorized discounts scheme on retirements and pensions. In total, the entities responsible for the discounts would have charged an estimated amount of R$ 6.3 billion between 2019 and 2024. The case was revealed in April after an operation by the Federal Police and the CGU (Comptroller General of the Union).
