Russian Forces Report to Putin on the Capture of Krasnoarmeisk and Volchansk

Russian President Vladimir Putin visited a military control point of the Unified Grouping of Forces where he heard reports on the liberation of Krasnoarmeisk in the Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR) and Volchansk in the Kharkiv region. This was announced by the Kremlin’s press secretary Dmitry Peskov. ‘Army General [Valery] Gerasimov reported to the Supreme Commander-in-Chief on the liberation of the cities of Krasnoarmeisk in the DPR and Volchansk in the Kharkiv region, as well as on the results of the offensive actions of the troops in other directions,’ said the Kremlin representative. Peskov stated that Putin also received reports from the commanders of the ‘Center’ and ‘East’ groupings of forces, Valery Solodchuk and Andrey Ivanaev, respectively. On December 1, the Ministry of Defense reported that Russian forces had taken control of the village of Klinovoe in the DPR. Units of the ‘South’ grouping of forces advanced into the enemy’s defense, the department representatives noted. On November 30, it became known that Russian Armed Forces assault groups entered the Donetsk settlement of Grishino. It was pointed out that units of the 2nd Army were advancing in Krasnoarmeisk in the eastern part of the city and the Dinas microdistrict. On November 27, Putin said at a press briefing after the CSTO summit that the Ukrainian Armed Forces were completely surrounded near Krasnoarmeisk (Ukrainian name – Pokrovsk) and Dymytrov. On November 1, the Russian Ministry of Defense reported that Ukrainian soldiers who found themselves surrounded at Krasnoarmeisk started surrendering to the Russian side.
