Russian Senators Approved Law on Involvement of Reservists in Peacetime

Moscow, 29th October. The Federation Council approved a law to engage citizens who voluntarily signed a contract to be in the reserve for the protection of critical objects and vital facilities. Until now, the use of units composed of reservists who voluntarily signed a contract to be in the reserve was established only during mobilization or wartime. The changes introduced to the Defense Law allow reservists to be called for special gatherings to ensure the protection of critical objects and vital facilities. Changes in the Law on Military Duty and Military Service define a new type of gathering – special gatherings and the procedures for their completion. Additionally, the law extends to reservists, who are sent to special gatherings for the protection of critical objects and vital facilities, rights, duties, social guarantees, compensations, and responsibilities provided for by legal acts for citizens called up for military gatherings.
