Hadush Kebatu has been deported to Ethiopia after a deportation order by the British Home Office. Originally from Ethiopia, Kebatu was wrongly released from Chelmsford prison instead of being transferred to an immigration detention center. He had previously assaulted a 14-year-old girl and a woman while living in Epping, England, and was arrested in London after a two-day manhunt. The Home Office confirmed his arrival in Ethiopia on Wednesday morning. UK Home Secretary Shabana Mahmood expressed regret over the error and thanked the police for swiftly capturing Kebatu, ensuring his deportation and the safety of the public.
