Storm and Flood Devastation in Indonesia

Last week, a severe storm followed by heavy flooding wreaked havoc in Indonesia, affecting three provinces – North Sumatra, West Sumatra, and Aceh. In these provinces, about 14 million people are facing the consequences of the disaster. Particularly in Malacca Strait, a cyclone named Sinyar caused a torrential downpour resulting in landslides and leaving many people stranded. So far, 500 individuals have lost their lives, with more than 500 others reported missing. Thousands are struggling without basic necessities, such as clean water, shelter, and electricity.
