Without a visa to enter the US, Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas gave a speech via video conference at the UN General Assembly. In a nearly 20-minute address, Abbas condemned the Hamas attacks on October 7, stated that the terrorist group would not have a role in a future government, and thanked over 140 countries, including long-time US allies, that recognize the Palestinian State – such as France and the United Kingdom, members of the UN Security Council, who announced their support this week.
