Trump criticizes UN and says that ‘empty words do not end wars’

President of the United States, Donald Trump, criticized the UN and said that ‘empty words do not end wars’ during his speech at the General Assembly on Tuesday (23). Trump assessed that the United Nations has ‘a lot of potential’ but falls short of achieving everything it could. He then emphasized that ‘empty words do not end wars; the only thing that ends wars is action.’ The president claimed to have ended seven conflicts during the first seven months of his second term in the White House. At another moment, he highlighted that he is there to ‘offer the hand of leadership and friendship of the United States for any action in this assembly willing to join us in making a safer and more prosperous world.’
